Members of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy were on hand this weekend for the opening of the newly renovated Chatham Shark Center on Cape Cod.
The nonprofit officially took over the responsibility of handling exhibits at the Chatham Shark Center following its merger with the museum in March.
The Chatham Shark Center first opened in 2015 with just two displays. Visitors can now learn about sharks and underwater life through several informational displays, including one that features a virtual reality component.
The museum also offers a look into the history of researching great white sharks in Massachusetts as well as an exhibit on Frank Mundus, who caught the world's largest great white in 1986.
Approximately 200 patrons visited between Saturday and Sunday.
