Whittier Street Health Center in Roxbury celebrated Black History Month on Thursday with an event honoring corporations that have made strides in diversity.

The community room at the health center was packed with people from all walks of life; very fitting as they gave a diversity award to Jackie Glenn, who is Vice President of EMC corporation. Glenn says diversity is a constant work in progress, "anywhere from designing a transgender program for the company to having a world class women's leadership program."

Glenn says corporations need diverse rosters.

“Diversity breeds innovation and without innovation you cannot survive.”

More than 75 people attended ceremony.
