Daily fantasy sports companies DraftKings and FanDuel are supporting Massachusetts' approach to regulating their industry.
The companies and other industry experts participated Thursday in a forum hosted by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey has proposed what she says is a first-in-the-nation plan to regulate websites that allow players to compete for cash prizes based on how athletes perform in real-life games. The proposed rules call for age and advertising restrictions, disclosure requirements and other restrictions.
Zakary Cutler, representing Boston-based DraftKings, said Healey's proposed regulations appear "reasonable" and "pretty thorough."
Stephen Martino, a lawyer for New York's FanDuel, suggested Healey's proposal should be a model for regulations considered by other states.
