Boston 2024 on Thursday announced a new Olympic venue plan - this one within city limits. Radio's Anne Mostue was there and has this report.
Imagine Olympic and Paralympic basketball and gymnastics in the TD Garden. Boston 2024 Chairman and Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca says it’s the best possible site.
“Over the past few weeks we’ve been making announcements about the new venues. And you’ve seen as the bid has evolved we have a clear principle, we want to collaborate closely with the communities. From New Bedford to Dorchester, from Burlington to Billerica to right here in the center of Boston.”
Pagliuca declined to comment on how the events might affect commuters who drive into Boston or use North Station. He says the logistical plans are ongoing.
