Congressman Joe Kennedy III joined Jim Braude on Boston Public Radio to discuss the issues facing his district, including President Obama's controversial trade bill which passed the Senate on Friday. Kennedy said he would vote 'no' on the bill if it came before the House today.

To explain his skepticism, Kennedy said:

"I have some very strong concerns with the bill as I've looked at it. I represent...communities like Attleboro, Fall River, and Taunton. You spend time in those communities. The question is very simple: what is this legislation going to do to make sure those communities and communities like them across Massachusetts, New England, and across the country have a fighting chance to get back into the middle class? They're scratching and clawing and fighting their way back from old industrial manufacturing communities trying to reinvent themselves to compete in an increasingly globalized economy. Does this bill, is this bill going to help them, and how? I've gone to numerous briefings, I've sat down with our experts from the administration, I've talked to companies large and small, and I have very serious concerns that this legislation does not do enough for those folks."
