On Boston Public Radio's Friday News Quiz, two poets independently inspired by the MBTA went head-to-head over the week's news. Both are frequent riders and observers of commuter life, both were moved to channel that experience into verse.

Erik Kraft writes MBTA-inspired haiku as well as children's books. Liam Day writes MBTA poetry, and he's the author of the poetry collection Afforded Permanence.
