Gov. Charlie Baker has filled one of the key remaining positions in his cabinet by naming Stephanie Pollack to serve as Secretary of Transportation.
Pollack comes to the new administration after nine years as associate director for research at the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy at Northeastern University, where she also was an adjunct professor.
Baker said in a statement announcing the appointment that Pollack has vast experience and expertise in transportation policy and infrastructure.
She previously worked for the nonprofit Conservation Law Foundation in Boston and was a consultant on transportation issues for several agencies including the Massachusetts Port Authority.
The appointment leaves Secretary of Public Safety as Baker's only remaining unfilled cabinet post.
