[UPDATE 4PM: A Florida prosecutor's office said it has not made a final decision regarding the shooting of Ibragim Todashev. In an email to a Todashev family attorney, an official in the State Attorney's office wrote that State Attorney Jeffrey Ashton has not not "communicated his decision to any federal officials." Ashton's office said that he plans to review the case over the weekend and will make a final decision no later than Monday. The official adds that the "release of purported information is inaccurate and unfair to Mr. Todashev's surviving family and the police officers involved in the incident and their families."]
Both the FBI and a Florida prosecutor have concluded there was no wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of Ibragim Todashev, a law enforcement official told WGBH News.
The 27-year-old Todashev was killed in Orlando last May while being questioned by the FBI and local police about his ties to Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
Officials allege Todashev attacked an FBI agent, prompting the agent to shoot Todashev multiple times.
An independent report by the office of Florida State Attorney Jeffrey Ashton will be released Tuesday morning. A separate investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division is ongoing.
Law enforcement officials told WGBH News the Justice Department report is expected to be released in the "very near future."
