The final snowstorm hurdle will be high tide at noon on Friday.
Wind is pushing water into Cape Cod Bay. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency is predicting moderate flooding from Hull to Duxbury and from Plymouth to the mid-Cape. MEMA spokesman Peter Judge says about 400 National Guard men and women are on the coast ready to assist.
“They’ve been pre-staged in four locations: North Shore, couple places on the South Shore, as well as the Cape, along with state police and environmental police, where they have their high-wheeled vehicles and they have boats to be able to assist local communities with any evacuations during these high tides if necessary,” Judge said.
The towns of Scituate and Duxbury have requested voluntary evacuations on coastal roads. Warming centers are open at the Duxbury and Marshfield Councils on Aging, and the Red Cross has shelters at Plymouth and Scituate High Schools.
