Passengers were evacuated from the Green Line this morning due to a power outage caused by an ignited cable at Arlington Station. The MBTA is investigating the outage. Service on the Green Line was suspended from Blanford Street on the B line, Kenmore on the C and D line, and completely suspended on the E line.
At press time, no fire had occurred as the result of the flaming cable, and no injuries had been reported.
The MBTA provided shuttle buses to take passengers to Government Center, but the suspension in Green Line service, as well as delays resulting from failing Red Line trains at Charles/MGH, Porter, and Andrew stations, left hundreds of commuters waiting in single digit temperatures.
The T has resumed normal service on all lines. For up to date information on delays, click here.
