Results from a new poll show a majority of Massachusetts voters support raising taxes on people earning more than $250,000 per year, and that job creation is a top priority.
Jim Williams, polling analyst with Public Policy Polling said the post-election survey revealed that the results of the election were not a fluke.
“Themes that candidates like Barack Obama and Elizabeth Warren campaigned and won on are still very much at the top of voters minds and they do want to see meaningful action on these issues," Williams said.
The poll also shows an overwhelming 73% Massachusetts voters want to see Congress raise revenue and protect services like Social Security and Medicare in the fiscal cliff debate.
"Massachusetts residents went to the ballot box saying that job creation, deficit reduction and affordable healthcare were top priorities and they want to see action on that moving forward," Williams said.
The poll was commissioned by the MassUniting coalition and has a margin of error of 3.9%
