Rep. Dylan Fernandes, who represents Falmouth, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, said he has received death threats and hateful messages over his support of the migrants who recently arrived to the island.

"You should see my inbox right now and how ugly it is," said Fernandes, who has been assisting the migrants and sharing frequent updates on social media and in the news.
Fernandes said on Greater Boston that his staff has handled the voicemails and messages, and that state police have been notified. He said that what really matters is the plight the migrants have gone through and how they can be helped now that they are here in Massachusetts.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent the migrants to Massachusetts without notice as part of a political stunt.
"A couple voicemails I've received is nothing compared to what these people have gone through. Some have walked 60 days just to get to the border followed by gang violence, some were robbed others were physically harmed," Fernandes said.
