Granite Telecommunications CEO Rob Hale gave $1,000 last week to each graduate of Quincy College with special instructions: keep half of it for yourself, and give the other half away to someone who needs it. He joined Jim Braude to discuss.
Hale shared how some students told him they planned to spend the gift half, including a single mom of five who would give $100 to each of her kids, a biotech student who wanted to give it back to the school itself, and another student who planned to donate to the Big Brother program.
“If we can catalyze giving and sharing in these youngster’s lives and it becomes part of their lives, all the better,” Hale said.
