Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker declared a public health emergency Tuesday and imposed a four-month ban on the sale of vaping products — reportedly the first of its kind in the nation. The move brought criticism from Cannabis Control Commissioners Shaleen Title, who said the change would just push more people to the dangerous illicit market, as well as from some entrepreneurs within the fledgling marijuana industry.

Jim Braude was joined by Massachusetts Secretary of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders.

NOTE: Jim Braude starts the interview by first asking Secretary Sudders about a piece played earlier in the show about proposed legislation that would make it easier for doctors to prescribe buprenorphine to patients with opioid dependence. The interview then moves to the topic of vaping.
