Today is national Equal Pay Day: a symbolic day designed to point out that, on average, a woman would have to work until today to earn the same amount of money her male counterpart earned last year alone. According to the most recent data, white women in this country earn about 77 percent of what white men make. And for many women of color, it's even worse, with black women earning 61 percent and Hispanic women just 53 percent.
