The Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival is taking to the streets this weekend for what the festival's Artistic Director and Grammy award winning drummer Terri Lyne Carrington calls "Boston's biggest block party."
The fest will go from 12 pm to 6 pm and cover six blocks from Columbus Avenue to the west of Massachusetts Avenue. Jazz lovers can enjoy two stages with international and local performers playing a wide range of jazz music. Even kinds can get in on the fun with a special kids music stage complete with a music petting zoo, where kids can try playing a variety of different instruments.
Carrington joined Boston Public Radio, along with Grammy award winning vocalist Catherine Russell and bass player and Berklee student Colescott Rubin, to talk about the festival and of course, play some jazz.
