Comedy is funny, but the comedy business is no joke. Author and Wellesley College associate professor Michael Jeffries spent more than a year interviewing comedians, club owners and bookers to pull back the curtain on the comedy industry. The result of his research and interviews is his latest book, “Behind the Laughs: Community and Inequality in Comedy.” It is our December selection for Bookmarked: The Under the Radar Book Club.
