Earlier this week North Korea publicly showcased the alarming escalation of its nuclear capabilities. Kim Jong Un's regime successfully tested an Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile Tuesday, despite frequent condemnations from world leaders. U.S. Senator Ed Markey, the leading Democrat on a Senate's Foreign Relations East Asia Subcommittee, is calling on President Trump to open direct ties with Pyongyang and further pressure China to intervene in negotiations. He urges President Trump to "respond to North Korea's missile test with a coherent strategy rather than just Twitter bluster."
