Company, playing at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston through October 9

Lyric Stage Company's Synopsis: "A ground-breaking musical, Company is a prescient, insightful, and often hilarious look at modern relationships. Directing Company for the first time, Spiro Veloudos ... brings the story of Bobby’s 35th birthday up to the present day, illuminating the vitality of this mature, intelligent, and wildly funny affirmation of marriage, relationships, and 'being alive.'"

Jared Says: "Spiro Veloudos ... is a fantastic, sublime interpreter of Sondheim. He really gets this great American composer and writer."

Sunday in the Park with Georgeplaying now at the BU Theatre through October 16

Huntington Theatre's Synopsis: "Stephen Sondheim’s stunning masterpiece centers on enigmatic painter Georges Seurat and his search for love, inspiration, and 'the art of making art.' One of the most acclaimed musicals ever, this Pulitzer Prize winner features a glorious score, with the songs “Finishing the Hat,” “Putting it Together,” and “Move On,” is directed by Artistic Director Peter DuBois (A Little Night Music), and features Adam Chanler-Berat (Broadway's Peter and the Starcatcher and Next to Normal) and Jenni Barber (Wicked)."

Jared Says: "Stephen Sondheim, fascinated by the artistic process... looks at the nature of art."

First Light: A Decade of Collecting at the ICAon display at the ICA through January 16, 2017

ICA Synopsis: "Coinciding with the ten-year anniversary of ICA’s move to its iconic waterfront building, this exhibition will celebrate the museum’s first decade of collecting. Drawn entirely from ICA’s collection and featuring multiple thematic, artist-specific, and historical sections, the exhibition will bring together both new acquisitions and favorites from the permanent collection." 

Jared Says: "You will see very, very resonant pieces really reflecting what we've been through the last 10 years."

Bridget Jones's Baby, in theaters now!

Universal Pictures' Synopsis: "Forty-something and single again after breaking up with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), Bridget decides to focus on her job and surround herself with old friends and new. But her love life takes a turn when she meets a dashing American named Jack (Patrick Dempsey), the suitor who is everything Mr. Darcy is not. In an unlikely twist, Bridget finds herself pregnant, but with one hitch…she can only be fifty percent sure of the identity of her baby's father."

Jared Says: "This is Renée Zellweger returning to one of her most famous roles... It's cute."
