Tony Barrand died on January 29th at age 76, leaving a hole in the heart of the New England Folk Community. He was a singer, dancer, academic, writer, teacher, historian, folklorist, curator, producer, festival organizer, and beloved friend to many in his adopted home of Brattleboro, Vermont, and way beyond.

In this appreciation, we speak with his long-time musical partner and friend, John Roberts, Paddy Swanson of Revels, his neighbour and musical collaborator, Keith Murphy, and with Jeremy Carter-Gordon and Lauren Breunig of Windborne who talk about Tony's profound influence on their music and lives.
