In this segment of A Celtic Sojourn, I explore a new project with Éilís Kennedy, a well-known singer-songwriter from Dingle, Co. Kerry. She has performed with us in the past for A Christmas Celtic Sojourn.

During one of those tours, as we were getting ready to perform at the Zeiterion in New Bedford, Kennedy spent some time at the Whaling Museum. She was inspired to return to research the social history of the industry of whaling and fishing and relating to common experiences on both sides of the Atlantic. The result of her research and writing is the album, So Ends This Day.

On this exploration of the project, I got a chance to talk extensively with Kennedy from her home in Ireland. Gerry O'Beirne produced the CD.
