8:05pm: Saturday evening's lineup had something for everyone.
8:00pm: "As dusk quietly fell upon Boston, a sea of hands raised up to clap in time as the infectious opening riffs of Hozier's fast-paced 'Dinner & Diatribes' throbbed across the congested field. The song is a darkly alluring rock track brimming with hints of gospel, blues and soul that spins the story of a frustrated, lustful narrator and his lingering lover at a social gathering. It was one of the many highlights of the Irish musician's set. Imposing visuals of a blazing fire erupted behind him and pulsating stage lights flashed across his face as Hozier's formidable voice thundered into the night. Hozier—known for his powerful vocal range and poetically symbolic lyricism—conjured the crowd to harmonize with him on 'To Be Alone,' an acoustic version of 'From Eden' and 'Take Me To Church,' among others. One of the most impressive aspects about watching Hozier live is the unparalleled passion he has for his lyrics—he sings with staggering emotion in both his voice and his disposition. He is able to deeply connect with his songs and his audience, creating a brilliantly unique concert-going experience." -Alexis den Boggende, Staff Writer at Sound of Boston
