The Columbia-based band Monsieur Periné lit the Paradise up last night with their signature “swing a la Colombiana” that blends 1930s Paris with the youthful spirit of modern Bogotá, mixing Django Reinhardt–inspired Gypsy jazz with cumbia, son, bolero, tango, and samba.
It's a mouthful, but also a fun time. Keep an eye on these folks, they're going places.
