The Dropkick Murphys kicked off the first of four tour-closing performances last night at the House of Blues for St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and as always, they couldn’t have picked a better time to come home. Fans went wild when the band played their Irish-themed punk anthems, just like they did at the Dropkick’s St. Patrick’s Day tour hometown show in 2014 that we captured. It reminded us that at the heart of tradition is a meaningful experience, and there are few things more beloved to Boston than when the Dropkick’s return for the annual shows. There was a lot of hometown love flowing through the room last night.
