  • GBH Kids and PBS KIDS today announced the launch of Search It Up: The Game, now available through Ruff Ruffman on pbskids.org. Based on the award-winning digital miniseries Search It Up, the game is designed to help kids ages 4-7 learn to safely navigate technology and the internet.
  • With an eye towards addressing the critical need for inclusive, research-based, widely-accessible quality children’s resources, GBH, the nation’s largest public media producer, has launched the GBH Kids Catalyst Fund. This focused fundraising initiative will support the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to developing learning media approaches that will connect with and serve a broad and diverse audience and help close the learning gaps for marginalized communities.
  • (Boston, MA – Feb 23, 2022) Jonathan Abbott, President and CEO of public media powerhouse GBH, who led its digital transformation, built its endowment and vastly expanded service to audiences, will step down after 15 years as chief executive, and 23 years with the organization. He will remain through the end of 2022 while a search is conducted for his successor.
  • BOSTON (February 22, 2022) – Boston public media producer GBH has awarded five fellowships to early-career writers who will bring diverse viewpoints and BIPOC representation to Work It Out Wombats!, a new animated GBH Kids series for PBS. The GBH Kids Scriptwriting Fellowship aims to diversify the pipeline of writers for both the series and the greater children’s media industry by providing early-career writers, who are members of underrepresented groups, with hands-on learning experience in television writing for children.
  • BOSTON (February 11, 2022) – Waking up Boston’s morning news scene, GBH News will debut a reimagined Morning Edition with co-hosts Paris Alston and Jeremy Siegel on Monday, February 14. Additionally, GBH News’ Karen Marshall has been elevated to the role of Executive Producer.
