GBH Announces Recipients of 2022 Paula Apsell/GBH STEM Scholarship
As part of its longstanding commitment to supporting science education, Boston public media producer GBH announced the 2022 recipients of the Paula Apsell/GBH STEM Scholarship. Seven Boston public school high school graduates will receive an award toward post-secondary STEM education. -
GBH Will Host Special Live Broadcast To Explore the Local Impact of the Repeal of Roe v. Wade
What will the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade mean for the people of Massachusetts? On Thursday, June 30 from 2-3:30 pm GBH News hosts Callie Crossley, Margery Eagan and Paris Alston will host a 90-minute community conversation at GBH's Boston Public Library Studio in Copley Square with guests including Reproductive Equity Now Executive Director Rebecca Hart Holder and Suffolk University Professor Renée Landers. -
GBH News Wins Six New England Emmy® Awards
Boston (June 6, 2022) - Boston public media producer GBH has been honored with six Boston/New England Emmy® Awards recognizing major GBH News initiatives and the work of individual contributors across the organization. The awards were presented on June 4 by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Boston/New England Chapter. NATAS is dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television, the fostering of creative leadership in the television industry, and the encouragement of excellence in artistic, educational, cultural and technical progress. The wins follow 13 nominations received by GBH in April 2022. -
Meteorologist David Epstein Joins GBH Local News Team with Daily Weather Forecasts
Renowned Massachusetts-based meteorologist David Epstein will bring his signature weather forecasts to GBH News beginning Monday, June 6, 2022. A new partnership between GBH News and the popular meteorologist will bring daily weather forecasts to GBH News listeners on weekdays during Morning Edition (6-10 am, 89.7FM). In addition, Epstein will join Morning Edition co-hosts Paris Alston and Jeremy Siegel for weekly discussions about trends in the weather and related issues like the impact of climate change on New England. Epstein will also provide breaking news weather updates throughout the day during snowstorms and severe weather events. -
North Quincy High School Named GBH’s High School Quiz Show State Champion
North Quincy High School has earned the title of High School Quiz Show® State Champion after an impressive run on Boston public media producer GBH’s academic quiz show’s 13th season. In an exhilarating championship showdown, North Quincy took on Andover High School in the season finale, which aired on May 21, 2022. North Quincy defeated Andover with a final score of 1120 to 980.
