Former National Geographic Executive Susan Goldberg Named GBH President and CEO
Susan Goldberg, a media executive and leader of technological and cultural transformation, will be the next President and CEO of GBH. She is the first woman to hold this role since GBH was founded in 1951. -
17 Massachusetts High Schools to Compete on Season 14 of GBH’s High School Quiz Show
High School Quiz Show®, GBH’s televised academic tournament for Massachusetts high schools, has revealed the 17 teams that will compete for the Season 14 State Championship title. The qualifying schools received the highest scores at High School Quiz Show’s Super Sunday event on November 6, where 65 schools from across the Commonwealth took a written quiz at GBH’s studios in Brighton. On the bracket are four first–time competitors as well as defending Season 13 champion, North Quincy High School. -
GBH News Politics Editor Peter Kadzis Announces Retirement Following 50 years in News Industry
Following 50 years in the news industry, GBH News Politics Editor Peter Kadzis will retire from full-time work in January 2023. He will continue to work with GBH News as a political contributor. -
GBH’s NOVA Honored with 2022 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award
NOVA, the PBS science documentary series produced by Boston public media producer GBH, has been honored with a 2022 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award. Producer/Director Bella Falk and Co-Director David Dugan received the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Silver Award in the Video In-Depth Reporting category for their work on NOVA’s Ice Age Footprints, which explores how ancient footprints provide new evidence of humans and extinct giant beasts of the Ice Age. The awards, administered by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), recognize distinguished worldwide science reporting for a general audience. -
“What Matters To You.” GBH Unveils New Tagline Placing the Audience at the Center
Preeminent public media producer GBH unveiled a new tagline: “What matters to you.”That tagline is now part of the GBH branding, which was updated in 2020 to reflect the public media company’s evolution from its origin as a local broadcaster to the leading multiplatform creator of public media in America.
