Boston, Mass. (Mar. 10, 2025) – GBH and Cape Symphony have announced that CAI, the Cape and Islands radio station, will be relocating to Cape Symphony’s Falmouth Campus. The newly-renovated, state-of-the-art facility, located about four miles from CAI’s previous location in the same town, is easy to access and includes parking and gathering space for public events. The approximately 2000-square-foot space accessing the Newton Wing of the Cape Symphony Conservatory building is situated next to nearly 400 acres of conservation land and walking and bike paths, neighboring Highfield Hall & Gardens.
“We’re excited for CAI’s move to this new purpose-built location with Cape Symphony, an organization that shares our commitment to education, entertainment, and the people of the Cape and Islands,” said Susan Goldberg, President and CEO of GBH. “This investment in CAI’s local journalism keeps the station embedded in the community it serves while opening doors for it to welcome that community in with events and partnerships.”
“We are delighted to welcome CAI to Cape Symphony’s home in Falmouth, confident that they will flourish in this vibrant and inspiring community,” said Mike Albaugh, Cape Symphony’s Executive Director. “This has always been a place of creative expression and connection, and with GBH’s legacy of bringing music to local audiences, we see exciting opportunities for collaboration. The Conservatory building, with its acoustically designed spaces and expansive performance area, is a perfect setting for Cape Symphony’s events, classes, and concerts, enriching the region’s artistic landscape. CAI’s presence will further strengthen this cultural hub, joining Highfield Theater, Highfield Hall, and the scenic 55-acre Beebe Woods in shaping a thriving arts community.”
CAI will continue its programming uninterrupted during the move to its new space. CAI, a service of the public media powerhouse GBH, provides listener-supported public radio to Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and the South Coast at WCAI 90.1, WNAN 91.1, and WZAI 94.3 with a range of localized offerings like public affairs program
