(Boston, MA – September 10, 2024) – Boston public media producer GBH today announced the appointment of Nina Chaudry as Executive Producer for WORLD, the leading public media platform renowned for original documentary, nonfiction storytelling, and international news.

Chaudry joins WORLD from FRONTLINE, PBS’ flagship investigative journalism series produced at GBH in Boston. As the senior series producer, Chaudry helped oversee FRONTLINE’s storytelling, in conjunction with the series’ editorial partners, and worked to expand and diversify the series’ journalism ranks, seeking out new filmmakers and supporting them as they developed, reported, produced and edited their long-form, investigative documentary projects.

“Nina is an ideal leader for WORLD, bringing experience in independent film production and the journalistic excellence that is a hallmark of the FRONTLINE brand,” said Susan Goldberg, president and CEO of GBH. “As we look ahead to this next chapter for WORLD, we will focus on continuing to provide the original storytelling WORLD is known for, as well as developing collaborations with FRONTLINE and other documentary productions.”

In addition to her experience at FRONTLINE, Chaudry brings deep roots in public media, having directed and produced series and films, including Wide Angle; Women, War & Peace; and Time for School. Chaudry also served as the director of Chasing the Dream: Poverty & Opportunity in America, a multiplatform public media initiative aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the impact of poverty. Before joining FRONTLINE, Chaudry served as the senior vice president of production for Tribeca Studios.

“As a journalist making news documentaries, Nina also brings earned knowledge about the independent filmmaking experience, from concept and production to distribution via film festivals, broadcasting and digital platforms. The team at WORLD is excited that Nina will help guide our filmmakers and lead our storytelling with exciting editorial partnerships,” said Liz Cheng, GBH & WORLD General Manager of TV & Streaming.

“Since first broadcasting in 2005, WORLD has established itself as a premier platform for global news and independent documentaries that amplify the issues and voices of underrepresented communities,” said Chaudry. “I’m excited to take on this new role, add my journalistic experience in producing documentaries to WORLD’s success, and bringing these exceptional stories to a wider audience.”

Chaudry will join WORLD later this month.
