Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural Asian Women, Asian Sisters by Tran Vu Arts portrays the complexities of women of color through shapes, colors, shades, and spacing.
“My intention in using vibrant colors is to reveal the beauty of Asian women and our stories,” Vu says.
As a transnational, interdisciplinary, and multi-generational creator and storyteller, Vu is deeply influenced by her Vietnamese American heritage and her organizing experience within the BIPOC and AAPI communities.
