Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural is a watercolor plein-air painting of the Boston skyline. Artist Barbara Marder sketches on site and completes her work in her home studio.
“I am a lifetime Bostonian and love my home city,” Marder says. “I’ve been creating watercolors for over fifty years, and this painting takes a deeper look at the colors and shapes of places familiar to me.”
Marder is a member of the Artisans Asylum in Allston, MA and also enamels jewelry. She was formerly a K-12 visual arts teacher.
