Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features Sherwin Long’s artwork, which mixes themes of psychology, graffiti, portraiture, activism, surrealism, and realism.
“The message I try to convey is one of self-empowerment and the ability to create our own destiny,” Long says. “My life experiences contribute to the vibrant colors, smooth line work, and collage of styles.”
Long is a local illustrator from Dorchester and graduated with a BFA in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art.
