Today’s mural brings attention to Alzheimer's disease, the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. Currently, 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and more than 16 million Americans are providing unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias. The Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter provides programs and support services, including a 24/7 Helpline, to thousands of local families each year, and helps fund research to work towards a cure.

The Forgetting: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s is a podcast produced by WCAI, our Massachusetts Cape and Islands NPR station, co-hosted by two well-respected Alzheimer's experts and authors: David Shenk, author of "The Forgetting: Alzheimer's, Portrait of an Epidemic" and Greg O'Brien, a journalist and author who has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. O’Brien provides a first-person look into the experience of this devastating disease.
