Our lectures cover a variety of compelling topics of local and world interest.   • This session focuses on **professional development and networking**, including: drafting session proposals for conferences and press releases for projects; submitting work for publication; negotiating for professional development funding and support; and creating a professional development plan for yourself. While geared towards early-career archivists, the skills discussed will be applicable to many young professionals in competitive fields.

  • Learn the history of computers and computing in the same way that conservators learn the history of book and paper making, writing, and printing to care for physical collections. A variety of games and exercises are used to teach core concepts in logic and computing, and a review of computer history shows how the specific preservation problems in digital systems relate to fundamental preservation issues across all media.
