Former US Ambassador Mark Parris is joined by Turkish Congressman Suat Kiniklioglu to discuss new directions for relations between Turkey and the US during the Obama administration. This event is hosted by Kennesaw State University.
Mark Parris is counselor to the Turkey Project at the Brookings Institution, where he is a visiting fellow. A retired career diplomat, he served as US ambassador to Turkey from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, as deputy chief of mission in Tel Aviv, he witnessed the first intifada, the first Gulf War, and the Madrid Peace Conference.
Suat Kiniklioglu is a member of the Turkish parliament and spokesman for the Turkish foreign affairs committee. He speaks Turkish, English, German, and Russian. He is married and the father of two children.
