_The New York Times_ says the new frontier in Science is “inside your brain.” A revolution in neuroscience is underway, with an unprecedented push to map and understand how the brain works. The United States, the European Commission, and Japan are all undertaking massive new research initiatives. The science that results could be transformational, upending our current understanding of learning, medicine, aging, and more. **Prof. Mina Teicher** has been a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics at Bar-Ilan University since 1982, and served as department chair from 1997 – 2001. She was appointed Vice President for Research at the university in 2001, and held that position until 2005. She served as Israel’s Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Science and Technology from 2005 – 2007. Prof. Teicher earned her Ph.D. in mathematics from Tel Aviv University and received a postdoctoral fellowship from Princeton’s Institute for Advanced Study. She has published over 100 articles in refereed journals, 40 manuscripts and one book. Prof. Teicher serves as an editor for three journals, referee for 14 mathematical journals and as an evaluator for four scientific foundations. She has supervised 15 postdoctoral fellows, 25 Ph.D. and 15 M.Sc. students. Prof. Teicher has organized and lectured at numerous conferences and seminars in both Israel and abroad.
**Eve Marder** is an American neuroscientist known for her work on neural circuits in the lobster stomatogastric-ganglion (STG) system. She discovered that circuits are not “hard-wired” to produce a single output or behavior, but can be reconfigured by neurotransmitters to produce many outputs and behaviors while still maintaining the integrity of the circuit. This work changed the way scientists view the structure and function of circuits in the brain and is thought to be a general concept that can be applied to humans.
**Deborah Dunsire** is an industry leader who brings more than 25 years of scientific, clinical, operational, and commercial experience, and proven leadership in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. She also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2005 to 2013. Currently Deborah is a board member of the Biotechnology Industry Organization. She is a trustee of the Museum of Science in Boston and a member of Massachusetts General Hospital Research Advisory Council.
**Inez Jabalpurwala** is the President and CEO of the Brain Canada Foundation and NeuroScience Canada Partnership (known collectively as “Brain Canada”), a position she has held since 2001. Brain Canada is a national non-profit organization that supports brain research. In 2011, the Government of Canada committed to match funds raised by Brain Canada, on a 1:1 basis, up to $100 million over six years. In 2006, NeuroScience Canada received The Conference Board of Canada/Spencer Stuart National Awards in Governance award in the non-for-profit category.
