Historian Anthony Cohen recounts the gripping tale of his ancestor Patrick Sneed’s flight from slavery in 1849. Cohen details his research uncovering his Jewish-Indian-Irish-African slave ancestry as he reconstructed Sneed’s route from Georgia to Canada along the Underground Railroad.

Anthony Cohen is an historian, author, and explorer of the American past. He has twice walked routes of the Underground Railroad in 1996 and 1998 and will chronicle his third journey as a documentary film titled, *Patrick & Me*, to be released in 2011. Cohen has served as consultant to the National Parks Conservation Association, Maryland Public Television, and NASA and trained Oprah Winfrey for her role as Sethe in the film Beloved. He is Founder of The Menare Foundation, Inc., a non-profit preserving the legacy of the Underground Railroad, and is Director of the Button Farm Living History Center, a 40-acre farm in Germantown, MD depicting the story of slavery and the Underground Railroad. He received his B.A. in American Studies from American University, and currently makes his home outside of Washington, D.C.
