Farayi Malek has traveled the world through music as a Grammy-nominated vocalist with Danilo Perez’ Global Messengers; and now musically, she’s going back to her own roots. From the American folk music and hymns of her childhood, to the blues and jazz she studied, Farayi brings all of the diverse sounds and experiences of her life into resonant songs that allow her effortless vocals to shine. The Salt Lick Incubator award-winner will be releasing her debut EP March 27th, 2025. This concert will feature music from her EP as well as Americana arrangements of her favorite spirituals and jazz standards, which as she says, are all rooted in the blues.

GBH Music Presents JazzNOW Celebrating International Jazz Day with Walid Zairi & Talween
GBH Music and JazzBoston celebrate International Jazz Day with Walid Zairi & Talween, showcasing original world jazz music that blends the oud and accordion. Oud player and Talween frontman Walid Zairi’s compositions are influenced by his Tunisian African roots and classical Arabic music background, with jazz elements layered in to create a fresh and energetic sound. Named after the Arabic word for "coloring," Talween features world-class Boston musicians who weave a kaleidoscope of musical colors with intense melodies, jazz and African rhythms, intricate harmonies, and bold improvisation.

GBH Jazz Nights featuring Anabel Gil Diaz
Come hear Cuban-Spanish flautist Anabel Gil Diaz and her ensemble bring the rhythms of Latin jazz to the BPL!
GBH Music and JazzBoston are co-hosting a new series to showcase the breadth of incredible jazz talent in the Greater Boston area. The event is held on the second Thursday of every month through May.
About Anabel Gil Diaz:
Cuban Spaniard, multi-instrumentalist and composer, Anabel Gil Diaz studied at the Superior Institute of Art (Cuba) in Classical Music and Musicology, Berklee College of Music in Jazz and Film and Video Games Scoring, and Longy School of Music of Bard College in Jazz and Contemporary Music. She recorded Terri-Lyne Carrington’s Grammy Award winning album "New Jazz Standards Vol. 1” and premiered her music as soloist with the Landmarks Orchestra in Boston. She records as session flautist for Harvard Composers Association and for Berklee’s Scoring Session Program.
Tickets are free, but registration is encouraged. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so arrive early! Please note that by registering for this event you agree to receive email communications from GBH Music.
