Television expert Bob Thompson spoke with Boston Public Radio on Monday to speak about Eddie Murphy's return to "Saturday Night Live" as a host on last Saturday's episode.
"I think when it was all done that it was a competent episode," Thompson said. "Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood [skit] was probably the best, with Mr. Rogers in the news again with the Tom Hanks movie that seemed to have some contemporary feel to it."
Bob Thompson is a founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture and a trustee professor of television and popular culture at Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
