It can be hard to cut through the vast television landscape to find the gems that are worth watching.
Bob Thompson, the founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture, and a trustee professor of television and popular culture at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, joins Boston Public Radio every week to suggest his takes on the best and the worst that TV has to offer.
This week, Thompson was happy to see historic biographer Rob Chernow replace what has traditionally been a comedian at this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner. At the same time, Thompson is already worrying that Chernow won't be back next year, as people have been calling for a comedian to return for next year's dinner. For his what to watch, Thompson picked the upcoming Netflix documentary "Knock Down the House," which follows New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez during the 2018 election.
