On Monday night, in its first-ever virtual ceremony, the Boston Theater Critics Association (of which I am a member) staged the 38th Annual Elliot Norton Awards.

The small theater company Moonbox Productions won big for its production of the musical "Parade," collecting awards for Outstanding Musical Production, Musical Performance by an Actor and Musical Direction.

The year's other Outstanding Production winners included "The Purists," presented by Huntington Theatre Company, "Cloud 9" at The Nora at Central Square Theater and "The Stone" staged by Needham's Arlekin Players Theatre.

In the visiting categories, the direct-from-Broadway play "Indecent" at the Huntington Theatre Company was named Outstanding Production while David Byrne's (then) Broadway-bound "American Utopia" was named Outstanding Musical.

The evening also featured a special citation given to "Shear Madness," which ended a 40-year run in March, and the Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence was given to actor Johnny Lee Davenport, who died in February.

The full list of winners follows.
