The Museum of Fine Arts’ 150th anniversary celebration showcases the artistic and curatorial talents of young scholars from several local youth empowerment organizations. Over the last year these young creators learned the skill of art curation and now their work is showcased in a new art show called “Black Histories, Black Futures."

The show features the work of artists of color from the museum's collection, reframed through the vision of some of Boston’s teens of color .

Guests:

Armani Rivas - MFA teen curator and Junior at the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science. His section of “Black Histories, Black Futures” is called “Normality Facing Adversity.”

Jadon Smith - MFA teen curator and Junior at the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science. His section of “Black Histories, Black Futures” is “Ubuntu: I Am Because You Are.”

Layla Bermeo - Kristin and Roger Servison Associate Curator of American Paintings at the MFA and mentor for “Black Histories, Black Futures.”

“Black Histories, Black Futures” opens on Martin Luther King Day, January 20, and runs until June, 2021.
