On Tuesday, actor and playwright Ryan Landry called in to Boston Public Radio to promote his play “Christmas on Uranus,” which has its final shows this upcoming weekend at the Lithuanian Citizens Association in South Boston.

Landry, who features prominently in the show, sings as well as acts. When asked why he doesn’t sing more often, he said "I'm a boozy chanteuse. Every once in a while I’ll sit... with the rain on the roof, and think about going back into the song lifestyle as my guitar gently weeps."

Also on the “Christmas on Uranus” bill is Dolly, the mustachioed puppy who made national headlines when she was first placed up for adoption, in large part because of her resemblance to legendary surrealist painter Salvador Dalí.

As to whether Dolly enjoys her place spotlight, Landry had this to say:

"She laps it up like a gravy train– she loves it.”

Landry is founder of the Gold Dust Orphans acting company.
