Ethics, faith and strength are the pillars on which the fictional Charles R. Drew Prep School For Boys builds its reputation — and the young black men it cultivates. Talented singer Pharus Young finally has his chance to lead the school’s legendary gospel choir, but not all of his classmates see him as the appropriate choice. That’s the premise of "Choir Boy," a heartfelt new play from "Moonlight" screenwriter Tarell Alvin McCraney.

"Choir Boy" is playing at the SpeakEasy Stage Company Calderwood Pavilion through October 19.
