Every week, WGBH Arts Editor  Jared Bowen  sums up the exhibitions, theater, movies and music you should check out in and around Boston.

ART AND THE LANDSCAPE A two-year public arts initiative from the Trustees of Reservations

Trustees' Synopsis: "The Trustees, whose 116 properties include some of Massachusetts’ most scenic and historic sites, such as the Old Manse in Concord, World’s End in Hingham and Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich, is working with independent curator Pedro Alonzo to present the two-year art initiative, titled Art and The Landscape, aimed at enhancing and enriching visitor experience through site-specific outdoor art."

Jared says: "This history has an untold element. We know all about the revolutionaries who came out of this area, we know less about the fact that many of them were slaveholders, and were it not for slaves, a lot of the revolution could not have happened."

DELLA ROBBIA: SCULPTING WITH COLOR IN RENAISSANCE FLORENCE , on display at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, now through December 4

MFA's Synopsis: "The Della Robbia family workshop flourished in Florence for about a century, producing expressive artworks for all spheres of life... Production of sculpture using this technique lasted only about a century before its secrets were lost. Some of the most familiar images today of Renaissance Italy, Della Robbia sculptures have retained their original color and shine over the centuries."

Jared says: "You can really spend time looking at these figures, staring at them, some of them at eye level. It's really mesmerizing."

BEN-HUR , in theaters August 19

Synopsis: Jewish prince Judah Ben-Hur, played by Jack Huston, is accused of treason by his adopted brother. He returns home after many years at sea looking for revenge, but he finds redemption.

Jared says: "I thought the chariot scene was actually pretty well done, especially in 3D, it's kind of mesmerizing. But otherwise you do wonder why this had to be done."
