WGBH Executive Arts Editor Jared Bowen joined Boston Public Radio on Wednesday to speak about the lack of diversity among Oscar nominations.

"The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is made up of 68% men and 84% of them are white, so it should come as no surprise that we have one person of color in all of the acting nominees and that's Cynthia Erivo for Harriet," he said. "This is what happens when the bodies don't change and you have the same group of people having the same sensibilities about films, this is what you get."
