We all love to hate the T. Riddled with delays, power outages and wheels that scream like a banshee, the United States' oldest subway system is set to receive an eight billion dollar makeover over the next five years. With fare hikes, construction and commute disruptions on the horizon, we asked people to share their thoughts on the current state of the T.

You get lucky, some days, some days you're one of the sardines in a can.
-Ryan, an Allston resident, recalls waiting for the T during the frigid temperatures of the Polar Vortex this past January.
I think the most difficult thing is the communication between the MBTA and the public. It's gotten so much better since I grew up here...but in general I think that can always can be improved.
-Sabrina, a Brookline resident, wishes the T was more accessible in up-and-coming neighborhoods like South Boston and the Seaport.
I don't exactly what the answer is to make everything better, but it's clear that getting the T to work better is the secret to allowing Boston to grow.
