It was a whirlwind day in Washington, DC today. First came reports that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was resigning. Soon, others started reporting he actually anticipated being fired today. Ultimately, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced that the President and Rosenstein have scheduled a meeting for Thursday — the same day Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford are currently scheduled to testify. The timing is certainly interesting, given that at least one other woman has come forward to the New Yorker with more sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh – which the nominee has denied.
