The heads of Harpers and The New York Review of Books defended their respective outlets decision to publish pieces by John Hockenberry and Jian Ghomeshi — both accused of misconduct. Those explanations were widely panned and, in the case of NYBR’s editor, the backlash was so strong that it led to him leaving job.
