Eileen
Ivers (1:03)
Fiddler Eileen Ivers gained fame in the
late 1990s as the star fiddler of the original Riverdance cast. Representing the US, she has won nine all-Ireland fiddle championships, a 10th on tenor banjo, and more than 30 championship medals, becoming one of the most awarded musicians ever to compete in such competitions. Here, Ivers and
her band, Immigrant Soul, perform a blend of traditional Irish fiddle and world music.
Robbie O'Connell (1:00)
Growing up in County Waterford, Ireland, singer/songwriter Robbie O'Connell was surrounded by traditional Irish music and musicians (his four uncles made up the Irish folk music singing group the Clancy Brothers). O'Connell began to play guitar and sing at age 13 and never looked back. Here, O'Connell is joined by fiddler George Keith and flutist Shannon Heaton.
